Introducing the John Simons x Paul Weller Shetland Sweater!
Hand Frame Knitted in the Shetland Isles in 100% New Wool, each sweater is produced by hand in a cosy domestic setting, resulting in a tubular knit sweater which is seamless in construction. The sweaters are then passed along to the next stage of production; grafting. The grafting process sees the addition of the signature ribbed collar, cuffs and hem, characteristic of a true Shetland sweater. Working closely with Paul Weller himself, we have elongated the collars and cuffs so as to replicate the characteristics of mid-century knitwear drawn from the John Simons archive, resulting in a high neckline which compliments the natural roll of a button down collar.
Produced in a substantial, super-soft, 2-Ply wool, which is at once both breathable and extremely warm, these sweaters are sure to serve you well from Autumn right through to early Spring.
“The first Shetland style sweater I owned was bright red. I later purchased a black one too. This would have been worn with a gingham check button down underneath it. Shetlands look great with or without a shirt underneath and apart from maybe Summer, it’s an all season item. Very 60's Paris look to 'em, very hip, that's their lasting appeal I think. Easy to wear and classically cool." - Paul Weller on the Shetland Sweater.
