In the early 1960's, Pendleton shirts hit the airwaves courtesy of the Majorettes, whose song “White Levis” became a number one hit in 1963. Before that, a group called The Pendletones were already singing about the California surf scene. The group soon changed their name to the Beach Boys, but retained their uniform of Pendleton shirts worn over white tee shirts, alongside khakis or 5-pockets. The band wore this iconic uniform on the covers of both their 45's and LP's throughout the 1960's.
Pendleton is the original surf shirt and this is the original Beach Boys Surf Shirt.
